Editorial guidelines

What we publish, and what we don't.

Our standards reflect our mission. We publish a small list each year — and we're transparent about the kind of work we're looking for.

Content standards

We publish writing that is rooted in truth, crafted with care, and shaped for a thoughtful reader. We prioritize clarity of message over novelty, and formation over performance.

We're drawn to manuscripts that…

  • Hold a clear, unified message from beginning to end
  • Demonstrate respect for the reader's time and attention
  • Are written with voice, not merely with opinion
  • Can stand up to multiple readings without losing their weight

We generally don't publish…

  • Purely promotional or self-brand material
  • Polemical writing aimed more at opponents than readers
  • Unfinished drafts (we require a complete manuscript)
  • Material that contradicts our Statement of Faith

Craft requirements

All finished manuscripts meet: 40,000+ words (fiction & nonfiction), complete front matter and endnotes where applicable, and at least one round of independent reader feedback. We work with authors to bring manuscripts to our production standard through our editorial services.

Author expectations

Authors we publish participate actively in editorial, approve all production milestones, and engage with readers once the book is released. Publishing is partnership — we keep our list small so we can walk each author through it personally.
